Medicare
At Butler Capital Advisors, we assist hundreds of Medicare-eligible individuals each year to help them understand their options from Medicare and to discuss how their medical and prescription medications will be covered. We can help you determine what options are available to you, the costs associated with each option, and enroll you in the plan(s) that fit you best.

What is Medicare?
Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people age 65 or older, under 65 with certain disabilities, and those any age with end-stage renal disease. There are 4 parts to Medicare: Part A (Hospital Insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage plans – offered by private insurance companies to cover hospital and medical costs) and Part D (covers prescription medications). Medicare is managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The Social Security Administration works with CMS by enrolling people in Medicare Part A and B.

What is Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap)?
Medigap is Medicare Supplement Insurance that helps fill “gaps” in Original Medicare and is sold by private insurance companies. Original Medicare pays for much, but not all, of the cost for covered health care services and supplies. A Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy can help pay some of the remaining health care costs, like Copayments, Coinsurance and Deductibles.

What is a Medicare Advantage Plan?
Medicare Advantage Plans are another way to get your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage. Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C” or “MA Plans”, are offered by Medicare-approved private insurance companies that must follow rules set by Medicare. Most Medicare Advantage Plans include drug coverage (Part D). In most cases, you’ll need to use health care providers who participant in the plan’s network.
